2004 Legal Food Frenzy Heats Up
Beginning the week of March 22nd - April 1, 2004 the staff and attorneys of Pender & Coward will participate in the area wide"Legal Food Frenzy" to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. This year's spirited competition is being led by Kathryn Byler-Clark and Peter Kubin, who promise to lead the firm to another record breaking year.
Adopt A-Child
for Christmas
One of Pender & Coward's most successful Community Service Projects is
our holiday outreach. For the past four years our firm has provided Christmas
gifts for the special needs children at St. Mary's.
Once the St. Mary's staff provides a "wish list" for each child, Pender & Coward attorneys and staff draw names and shop for the items. Last year we loaded two vans with staff and presents and distributed wonderful gifts at their Christmas Party.
Pender & Coward's CEO, Richard Matthews, said, "The gifts we give will be all that most of them have to open on Christmas Day. As they say in Whoville, 'The Grinch's heart grew 3 sizes that day.' Seeing these children makes you realize how blessed we are, and that the problems we all face in the rigors of our jobs are really minor irritants."
Lee National Denim Day - Go Casual For A Cause
Pender & Coward will participate in the Eighth Annual Lee National Denim Day on Friday, October 10, 2003. This event is the world's largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer and benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Organizations nationwide participate by allowing employees and members to wear denim for the day in exchange for a $5 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
