Firm shareholder David L. Arnold focuses his practice in the areas of Eminent Domain, Historic Real Estate Development and Historic Tax Credits, Commercial Litigation and Business Affairs.

He is involved in myriad civic and professional organizations, including the Virginia Beach Bar Association, the Suffolk Bar Association, and the International Right of Way Association. He served as a board member for Suffolk Tomorrow, and is a former board member for the Greater Suffolk Council and Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads.

He participated in the Suffolk Leadership Academy in 2004, and served on the Jefferson Scholarship Regional Selection Committee from 2002-2005. From 1995-1998, he served as Co-Chairman for the Young Lawyers Section, Virginia Beach Bar Association, and from 1993-1995, he served as Chairman for the VBA Model Judiciary Program, Tidewater Area.

He served as a lecturer for the 2010 Virginia Eminent Domain Conference. He is the co-author of “The Fifth Amendment Privilege Against Self-Incrimination in Civil Cases”, which appeared in the Virginia Lawyer in December 2009. He also co-authored “Another Broadside on Miranda:  The 2003-2004 U.S. Supreme Court Term and the Fifth Amendment Privilege Against Self-Incrimination”, which appeared in the Virginia Lawyer in October 2004.

He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from William and Mary, Marshall Wythe School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
