J. Dale Bimson practices law in the areas of Mediation and Arbitration, Land Use and Environmental Law, Local and State Government Law, and Administrative Law. His practice centers out of the firm’s Virginia Beach office.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Bimson served as a General District Court Judge and Chief Judge from 1998 — 2000 in Virginia Beach. He also held the office of City Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach. Bimson has served as Adjunct Professor at Regent University Law School, Virginia Wesleyan College, Averett University and Troy University.

He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, American Bar Association,Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Committee (Second District), Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Virginia Beach Deferred Compensation Board. He is a former President of the Virginia Beach Bar Association, the Founding Director of the Local Government Attorneys of Virginia, the Chairman of the Virginia Municipal League, City Attorney Section, and the State Chairman of the National Institute of Municipal Law Officers.

Bimson is also involved in community as the Vice Chairman of the Virginia Beach Cable Commission, and as a member of the Virginia Beach Recreation Commission and the Virginia Beach Criminal Justice Board.
