Pender & Coward Recognized as 2013 Best Law Firm

December 6, 2012

Virginia Beach, Va. – Pender & Coward has been named a 2013 Best Law Firm in the category of Trusts and Estates Law. This is the fourth consecutive year the firm has been recognized on this list, which was developed in 2010 as part of the Best Lawyers program.

Best Lawyers is the oldest and most highly respected peer reviewed guide to the legal profession worldwide. The program represents over 70 countries and is known for its relationships with the most prestigious lawyers from all over the world. Earlier this year, four Pender & Coward attorneys were named to the Best Lawyers list, including E. Diane Thompson who is part of the Trusts and Estates Law team and was also votedLawyer of the Yearby her peers.

“It’s an honor to be awarded this title, and it would not be possible without the dynamic group of professionals we have working together at Pender & Coward,” says Richard H. Matthews, Pender & Coward’s CEO.

The Best Law Firms list appeared in U.S. News & World Report’s Money issue on November 20, 2012. The national and metropolitan first-tier rankings are featured in the Best Law Firmsstandalone publication, which is distributed to more than 30,000 general counsel, and in digital format to more than 60,000 private practice lawyers worldwide.

“Because we combine hard data with peer reviews and client assessments, more and more clients inform us that ours are the most thorough, accurate, and helpful rankings of law firms ever developed,” says Steven Naifeh, president of Best Lawyers.
